David Levinthal // 1989-2008 // 23.10.08-20.01.09

This is the first exhibition made in Spain for the well known american photographer who, by using the apparently vane world of toys, shows us reivindicating and mordacious scenes of the current life.

Levinthal has been submerging in the world of photography since the 1970’s.

In his Polaroid Polacolor works, he portrays the real world from an irrealistic perspective, both methodical and ellaborated. He puts a mis en scène in which he places the actors, freed from cultural rethoric and moral ties, and becomes a voyeur of life. In this way he can portray with absolute liberty themes that are very unrelated such as war, the female beauty, sex or the distances among social classes.
