Raíña Lupa was born in Paris in 1994 as an editorial project specialised in artists books and original graphic work. In 1998 Raíña Lupa’s art gallery opened in the same city, orienting its work towards a relationship among art and literature. From 2002 the project continues in Barcelona, with a new editorial line in which photography and the new digital tehcniques take a predominant place.

In the spring of 2008, Raíña Lupa opens its new space on a fist floor in a gallery located on the Consell de Cent street of Barcelona, the artistic core of the city. The space is 120 squared meters and it is structured in 2 different ambits:  the exhibitions room and the library – exhibitions room. From there it continues with its editorial mission, it exhibits the work of international artists with whom it collaborates in editorial projects and producing exhibitions for institutions.

Faithful to its origins as an editorial Project, Raíña Lupa is an exhibition space with an argumental specification:  combining the difusion of artistic practices of consecrated artists and new values with the edition of artists books. It also produces new exhibition works for art centres and museums (Arts Santa Mònica, Casa Encendida, CCCB or the Santiago de Compostela Auditorium, among others), and it promotes Arts Libris: an art and design book fair in Barcelona.
