Biography

 

Barcelona 1949 

 

He started arquitecture, but didn’t finished, in Barcelona and he studied graphic design at Eina School. His first exhibition of drawings was made in the Ateneo from Barcelona in 1977 and three years later participated in the First Mostra d’Art Jove de Granollers, with a ‘poor’ sculpture, made of cotton and candy wrappers. This aesthetic, associated with Poor Art, continues in his others exhibitions, both individual inside the conceptual Catalan collective.

 

From 1974 started to use his body as a vehicle and instrument of his works. His fundamental iconographic reference are cinema and pop music icons, the representation of celebrity for mass media too. He made performance in New York and Barcelona and he participated in ‘Seny i Rauxa: 11 artistas catalans’ in George Pompidou Center.

 

Since 1980 began to do ‘assemblages’ & ‘collages’.
